Getting started

Install Aurel

  1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
  2. Open the Theme Store listing for Aurel and choose the preset you want (Aurel, Street or Celandine).
  3. Click Try theme to preview it in your store, or Buy theme to add it to your theme library.
  4. When you’re ready, click Publish next to Aurel in your theme library.

Demo photos don’t transfer with the theme. Add your own images in the theme editor after installing.

Before you edit

Always duplicate your theme before making big changes: Online Store → Themes → ⋯ → Duplicate. If something goes wrong, you can publish the copy.

Switch presets

Presets change colors, fonts and the home page layout. To switch, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize → Theme settings, open the preset list at the top, and pick Aurel, Street or Celandine. Switching presets replaces your color and font settings.

Theme settings

Open Customize → Theme settings (the gear icon).

Color schemes. Each section has a Color scheme setting. Edit the schemes once in Colors and every section that uses a scheme updates. Keep body text dark enough on light backgrounds (and light enough on dark ones) so it stays readable.
